How did eHarvey Online School start?

About UsIn the summer of 2006, The Harvey School piloted its first online summer school session. We started with a small group of students, and exceptional teacher and the best technology available. Today, we are in our 7th year of providing a quality summer school product to our own school community and students across the country. We have such confidence in our student-focused model, that we launched a full-fledged online school in September of 2010. Call us and see how eHarvey can fit into your academic plans.

What makes eHarvey Online School different from other online schools?

There are many online schools out there, but eHarvey is different. First and foremost, eHarvey is and extension of The Harvey School, which has been in the business of education for nearly 100 years. We have taken that invaluable experience and strive to provide the best of both worlds…the flexibility provided by cutting-edge technology and the support provided by an experiences prep school teacher. Other online schools only allow students to communicate to their teachers through email, blogging, forums and chat. Imagine trying to learn a complex mathematical solution through a chat? No Way! Harvey’s online school has a fully interactive virtual classroom with a whiteboard, chat, and audio to offer students a truly interactive classroom experience from the comfort of their homes…or anywhere else there is an Internet connection!

How does eHarvey Online School work?

Our online school combines three different complementary technologies to provide the most robust, flexible and supportive online learning experience available. All of our technologies are compatible and user-friendly. We use:

  • a content management system where students can access all class materials, assignments, schedules, and all applicable information
  • an online curriculum that provides an interactive learning experience with animations, text, audio, assignments, glossaries, and assessments where the results are fed back to the teacher
  • an online classroom where students meet with the teacher and other classmates for review sessions, extra-help and guidance
